Is that how a brand new sealed Seagate HDD look like? I dont know since I always purchase Western Digital. Someone in our area is selling them cheaper than the stores that's why I am wondering if it's legitimately sealed.

Most HDDs are packaged like this. Anti-static bags and cardboard boxes are the best sort for mechanical drives.

It looks like that,my Barracuda came like like that

So it means that it's safe to purchase it? It's cheaper by $10. Though it only has 2 weeks personal warranty + distributor warranty from which I dont know till when.

I would look at it like this:

You should be buying those as if they were used. 2 week warranty is enough to ensure it's not DOA, but after that, it's no warranty at all for failure.

What is "distributor" warranty?

Are the drives still warrantied by Seagate themselves?

That looks like sealed drives, but who knows? They could easily have cut open the packages, removed the sealing tape, and applied their own white tape.

Honestly, that's sketchy as fuck. This dude is likely not getting these drives in a "legit" manner (Speculation only).

For $10? I would get them new with the full warranty and pay the extra $10. Most Seagate HDD's come with at least a 2 year warranty.
