I have been offered to swap my i3-2120 for an i5-2500 plus 2000 PHP (around $42.15@ 47.45 PHP per USD). Is it worth it? Maybe if I can haggle to 1500 PHP ($31.61)?

I planned on upgrading my system slowly which I already did with my PSU, case (used), RAM, GPU, mouse, mousepad and CPU cooler. Next was my CPU and mobo (i5-4590 w/ a B85 mobo) this Christmas but unfortunately I hit a bump financially because I will need to save more for my CPA licensure exam review next year. I might not be able to upgrade until then.

Honestly. That bump up on that old of a processor isnt going to get you a LOT of extra usage. If i were you, i would worry about the CPA rather than spending that kind of money on a way outdated CPU. Wait a year and go with the 6500 when it goes down in price. It wont be high for long!
