msi x99a boot options

can the msi x99a sli plus boot from the pci lanes?

 

i want to get a 950 pro and use it with a pci to m.2 adapter and boot from it.

want to get this adapter from asus https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboard-Accessories/HYPER_M2_X4_MINI_CARD/

 

i know the msi x99a has a m.2 slot on board but i think using the adapter will help keep it cooler.

 

 

 

OR maybe i can get 2 950 pros and raid 0 them

it wont get that hot in the first place and the cooler wont really help it that even when it does warm up a bit

so the 950 pro donest get as hot as other m.2 ssds?

 

ive read some places about m.2 drives throttling due to heat

 

i might wait for the 1tb drives to come out in the 950 pro cause i plan to use it as my ONLY drive in the computer

950 does get a bit warmer than others but tbh it wont affect performance.
