OS on old HDD

Go to solution Solved by GodSpoon,

Generally that doesnt work, although occasionally if you install the motherboard chipset drivers before swapping its possible

But that often brings up issues and problems, so I suggest a clean install

Is it possible to use a HDD from my old desktop which has windows 7 loaded on it to boot my new pc? or should i just start from scratch completely?

Test the drive first in another PC and check its Health and its speeds...

Determine if its in good condition and provides a decent speed relative to normal HDD's...if not....Start from scratch.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
