Fallout 4 get save back?

So i have my level 40 guy and i jus finished the main story and was looking forward to doing all the side quests and stuff, but i thought i'd make a new person to play around with. so i made 3 saves of my old one just incase of overriding.

however, it deleted all my saves from my main game

is there anyway to get these back? are they in my steam folder or something? I find it very strange you can't have multiple saves at once too

Save files are in My Documents -> My Games -> Fallout 4 -> Saves

 

If it's a new character, it's probably due to a new feature for managing saves on Fallout 4. If you load a save for B, you will not find saves for character A. You know, when you load there should be an option for 'show all characters'.
