The support brackets going into the fan itself is the side where the air is blowing.

Put your hand in front of it you will be able to feel which way the air is going.

Also on one side you will be able to see a fan guard/bracket which holds the motor, on the otherside it will just be a circle in the middle, the air is pushed out of the side with the fan guard/bracket.

Could also be arrows on the side showing the direction of air.

Look at the blades and fan hub.

I like the color scheme of Noctua fans. Deal with it. Forget about the bad memories of the past.
