So I am thinking about building my own PC.  I would like to know what are the best recommend parts like GPUs and Water cooling.  The case that I'm looking at is the Trooper (SGC-5000-KWN1.)  I am new to this PC building thing and I have no idea what I should look out for and what parts to get.  I would like to use this PC for college work, editing videos and casual gaming.

Some Questions that I have, are:

Why is a quiet PC a good thing?

Why is over heating bad?

If the power is 500 should I get a 1200 power supply?

What is the good thing of having 2 graphics cards?

What does water cooling do and why not use regular fans?

I want an intel core processor, but there are a lot to choose from.

1. A quiet PC is better to listen to than a loud one.

2. If your parts run at excessive heat all the time, their life will shorten.

3. No, just get a 600 or 750. If you plan to upgrade to a HUGE rig in the near future, get a larger PSU (AKA power box xD)

4. The performance almost doubles. It is almost always better to get 1 card that performs as good as 2 cards as there is less heat, power consumption, and cost.

5. Air cooling has a heatsink attached directly to the source and the heatsink has air blown through it to cool down. Water cooling is better because it can take the heat, be transferred to somewhere else to be dissipated of its heat in a radiator (heatsink for water.

6. There are three core tiers: Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7. Learn more here:

http://www.ekwb.com/  is a great watercooling site.

Answers:

-People are bothered by the sound of their PCs(Fans)

-Over heating can lead to shorter life span of parts or Thermal throttling:

-If your system needs 500W get a 600W PSU

-2 graphics cards usually means double the performance:

-Water cooling(Custom loop) usually beats out air cooling but it isn't worth it IMO

It depends on your budget and needs

1. Who likes noise

2. It could damage your parts

3. No, that's way overkill, you only need a little bit of overhead, (for example, if it's 500 watts, I personally go somewhere in between 600 and 700 watts, but that's just me, some people go lower.) Also, if you call it a power box people will make fun of you, they are known as a Power Supply, or PSU ( Power Supply Unit)

4 Depends

5. You really only need water cooling for very hot components, or if you have the money to splruge

6. Pentium: Web Browsing and general computer tasks

i3: Same as pentium but can handle some good gaming

i5: Perfect gaming processor

i7: Heavy duty work like editing and the sorts

Xeon: For servers, don't really bother with unless you have experience
