Ok my brother got a new mother board, CPU and ram for Christmas on and he has installed them and they all seem to be working, he already had a graphics card, and they all are fine for going into the BIOS except when he tries to boot into is OS

Now with the OS he got a pre built before and tore it apart and just recently got his OS onto an SSD however now from upgrading he cant boot into his OS any more and it comes up with :

"reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key"

so what does this mean?

is the OS from a prebuilt system? if so oem installs cannot be transferred to another computer. so windows wont boot no matter what you do.
