So I've had this idea for a while now. I don't know if it exists so I'm asking you guys (and of course gals).

I want to be able to use the scroll wheel on the program that is working when I am over it (if you didn't understand I won't blame you). Let me explain what I mean.

Let's say I have chrome and Open Office side by side (on my new ultrawide monitor). I'm working on a paper and I want to scroll down on youtube so I can play a different song. Normally you would have to first click on the chrome side of the screen to "gain access" so you can scroll down, otherwise if you move the cursor to the chrome side and start scrolling the open office document scrolls.

Is there a way to scroll on the chrome side while working on the document side without first having to click on the chrome side?

Thanks!

*EDIT

If you move the cursor from the document side to the chrome side, you can't use scroll at all

I don't think what you are asking is possible (although maybe with pages "always on top"... i don't know). but a faster solution would be making specific macros to switch between your pages very quickly, then scroll and re-macro to get back at your doc...

How do I make all pages "always on top"?

Maybe configure auto hotkey to click when you start scrolling? Idk.

Good idea but when I scroll I do bursts of like 3-4 and then repeat. Which means if I make it so that each time I start scrolling it will click it won't work...

How do I make all pages "always on top"?

in autohotkey: ^SPACE::  Winset, Alwaysontop, , A with this you press control+space (while AHK is running) the page that is currently on top will become always on top, and revert back when you press control+space again. Also i believe there are plugins and add-ons to do just that with chrome and firefox

Scrolling on non-active windows comes as a built-in feature in Windows 10. Once you have it turned on, the scrollwheel on your mouse scrolls based on the window the cursor is on, regardless of whether it's active.

windows 8 brought this in as a feature, so I am assuming that you are still on 7? Just out of curiosity why are you holding back on the windows 10 update?
