So, my PS3 is dying and I want to build a small form factor pc to replace it.

my budget is around 500-600$. I would prefer it to be a mini itx one, so I could fit everything into an HTPC (or small case) and put it in my living room.

I would also love it if it would support 5.1 speakers so I could skip buying a receiver for my living room.

Performance-wise, the dream would be getting 1440p at 60+ fps but I'm not fooling myself...

Any tip or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

For around $600, you most likely won't be getting 60+fps on 1440p... I'd go 1080.

What country do you live in? This depends greatly on what parts you will be able to get with that budget.

Understood, I adjusted the budget to the price differences.

P.s. I'm from Israel.

How are you going to buy your parts, are you going to buy from Israeli shops or can you order things internationally from somewhere like Amazon?

$600USD is about 2300 Shekels right? I'm having a hard time trying to navigate the Israeli websites between their bad layouts and the rough translations that Google is giving me, so I'll just put a vague list here and hopefully you should be able to find the parts yourself.

CPU - Intel i3 4170 ~600

Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-B85M-DS3H Revision v1.1 ~350 (Make sure it is revision v1.1 or it will not support Haswell Refresh CPUs)

or a Gigabyte GAB85MD3H which is ~400 but it has 5.1 Audio

RAM - Kingston 1x8GB ~220

GPU - Gigabyte R9 270X ~700

PSU - Seasonic 520W ~320

Case - Antec One ~220

Storage - WD Blue 1TB ~240

Total estimated cost 2650 Shekels with 5.1 Audio, 2700 Shekels with out 5.1 Audio

I understand that this is quite over budget but without spending hours trying to look through local stores for you this is pretty much the best I can come up with. Maybe you can find some of these parts for cheaper than what I could do.

Anyway, I hope this gives you an idea on which parts you should be looking for.

Possibly step the CPU up to an i5

you also have the option of a super tiny GPUless APU build with high speed memory, but that's more for light 1080p gaming, however it is going to nearly fit into your pocket
