Windows 10 activation problems

I have recently cloned my hard drive because I built a PC but a day later its asking me for a product key and I don't know why as it is a legitimate copy of windows that I previously bought and I don't want ot have to pay £100 again.

are you still using a pc that you cloned the drive of. Do you still have the activation key still, if the old windows 7/8 activation key doesn't work for windows 10 activation you can reinstall your os by installing windows 7 or 8 (what ever you had before) and upgrading.
