$700-$900 Laptop

A friend of mine is looking for a good laptop in that ^ price range. He wanted to get either a MacBook Air or something that ran windows. He will only use it for school related activities, and things such as movies. I was wondering what you guys could come up with. I think he'd want 1920x1080 IPS, with an ssd.

Edit: he'd also like something more on the light and thin side. Around 11 or so inches

MacBooks are probably the best bet for school related uses and media playback. Just because they are so easy to navigate. If he wants to play games probably not the best bet.

Go with the HP Spectre x360, I have it and it is a great for school, has great battery life, it is really light and thin and has a 1080p screen, an SSD, and it has great performance (the model I have which is above your price range has an i7 processor and 8 GB RAM with an Intel 5500 graphics)
