USB Extension for Peripherals

PlamenDrop
Go to solution Solved by PlamenDrop,

For anyone that was curious, I did just install a USB hub and my G402, G710+, and c920 work perfectly. As for other peripherals, I'm not sure if they'd be compatible with this configuration, but the majority should work just fine.

Hello,

I just unboxed my new set of peripherals for my computer only to find out that my current setup will not allow the USB cables to reach my computer tower. I had an extra USB extender lying around and tested the my keyboard, mouse, and webcam which worked just fine. I could get 3 usb extension cables to do the job. What I really wanted your opinions on was whether plugging my peripherals into a USB hub would work. I don't see any issues with a hub conceptually, but I'm not quite framiliar with how the USB framework functions.

To get to the point, will a USB hub work to connect all my peripherals or do you reccommend individual USB extension for each device? Also, any performance downsides to either option?

Thanks! Sorry if there's any redundancy or confusion.

I've done this because i had them lying around with single cables but a hub should work fine, too.

I currently use a hub for everything (two mice, a keyboard, my Webcam, my mic, my printer, and my DAC.) and I've never had any issues with it... USB is designed to have something like 128 devices plugged in at a given time, so I don't think you'll have any issues...
