Beyerdynamic DT-770 (?)

Hallo,

I'm thinking to get the Beyerdynamic DT-770, but i don't know if i should get the 32 Ohm or 80 Ohm version?
And if it worth the money to get a amp or dac or soundcard?

Will be using the headphones on my pc for music and gaming.

 

(I have choosen the DT770 instead of the DT880 because i will be using it around people so closed back is better?)

This. If the headphones are too easy to drive, the amplifier will loose the ability to control them, that's when you get either boomy bass, no bass or both unevenly.  It also effects higher freq. but that is less noticeable.

Okay so the 80 Ohm or 250 Ohm but if i get the 250 Ohm it will be to hard to drive from my motherboard?
So i will need a amp if i get the 250 Ohm version?

What's your motherboard? Mine drives up to 600 ohms

Probably fine.

 

If it isn't fine. getting a lower impedance headphone won't help anyway.

It's best to get the cheapest version of the DT770 other than the 32ohm, and get an amp later if necessary.
