Which Motherboard?

koji

Here are my specs..

Proc: Pentium G3258

GPU: Sapphire R9 380

1 SSD + 1 HDD

PSU: Seasonic S12II 620W

Case: Deep Cool Tesseract BF

I will replace the processor to i5-4460 before January ends.

My problem tho is regarding the motherboard. Im looking at B85 Motherboard and they say that Asus motherboards are good.

Now as I check Asus they have 3 versions of B85.

B85M

B85M-Gamer - $10 more expensive than B85M

B85M-Pro Gamer - $20 more expensive than Gamer and $28 more expensive than B85M

B85M uses Realtek LAN and Audio

B85M-Gamer uses Intel LAN and SupremeFX Audio

B85M-Pro Gamer same w/ Gamer + GameFirst II + SonicRadar

Now these are my questions.. I hope you are kind enough to answer and help me.

Does Intel LAN and SupremeFX Audio makes a difference?

If it makes a difference then I'll do get the Gamer one since $10 for the difference isnt bad.

Is GameFirst II and SonicRadar useful?

Still tho I think $20 added price is too big. But if it makes big difference I can consider buying.

Im thinking more on getting the 2nd one which is B85M-Gamer.

Please give me your opinion regarding their added performances.

Thanks a lot for spending few of your time to help me.

I'd go for the B85-Gamer. The Pro Gamer features aren't much to write home about and most user don't even touch them

You should go with the second one. Don't bother with any packet prioritization programs. They cause more problems than they solve.

Yea 2nd one clearly is optimal tho im thinking maybe GameFirst II has something on their sleeve that will make it worth having. Coz I have a program on my phone that can block others' data that is connected on same wifi. If GameFirst II wont be useful then I will be with the 2nd one.

Its not on your list but I recently used an Asrock H97m Pro4 for a build recently. Will support AMD Crossfire with plenty of fan headers also Intel nic will probably be better for what you're doing than a B85 board I'm assuming it has nothing special sound wise, but to me all that stuff gets in the way
