So I'm looking at getting this board with my first build as it ticks all my needed boxes, its cheap, it works & its black without any blue.

Now it says FX-6300 is supported with the correct bios and the company I'm buying the board from (Techworld New Zealand epic company) said they would flash the bios for me to dispel any worries about getting an outdated bios.

I wanna hear people's experiences with this board like, I'm not going to OC like mad if I do OC ever it'll be to about 4.5. I just wanna know of any potential risks or if this board is a write off.

From what I've seen it's got very mixed reviews from people If you are going to OC I'd look at the 970 chipset as a bare minimum.

Edit : The board says it supports up to 95 W TDP so once you start to OC you'll have issues.

Eh that's fine, if I OC its going to be watercooled maybe even direct die, going to try make my builds a first for everything in some way.

I'm more looking for longevity, I don't want the board to blow up and kill my components, I don't earn a hell of a lot and I can't be replacing components every 2nd week.

Its not the cooling that's the issue more that the board won't be able to provide the power for a decent OC, at stock it should be fine.

So if I were to begin overclocking, staying at the same voltage technically wouldn't change how much power the chip is drawing just upping the clock speed it can use at that power level right?

It's only if I raise the voltage then it draws more power?

I'm fairly sure that's correct but I'd rather not be quoted on that as I'm not 100% sure.

With the fx 6300 being 95w I'm gunna take a stand on not ocing on this board...

Yea that's my thinking, I'm guessing I was still editing my first post when you quoted me.
