Hi,

I need to hook up a PS4 to my display port monitor. My monitor supports HDCP, so that shouldn't be an issue. Was just wondering if this cable will do the trick?

Cheers

Can't see why not!

Try using pure HDMI to HDMI, but if it doesn't have it, this will also work with HDCP!

Only real reason why I'm asking is I've heard people having issues with doing what I'm trying to do- talk of "active converters" and whatnot.. But I'd imagine this should be fine as its used to CONVERT hdmi to display port.

Yes it should be fine. Worth a shot for $20

Might add this later...

That cable appears to be a passive converter of DisplayPort TO HDMI. You need an active HDMI TO DisplayPort converter. I unfortunately don't know much about what's good and what's not in this arena, so hopefully someone can recommend one.

Edit: did some digging and something like this is what you need.

http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-HDMI2DP-DisplayPort-Active-Converter/dp/B004I6IYSM/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1448950546&sr=8-4&keywords=hdmi+to+displayport+active

DP out can be passively adapted to work with an HDMI monitor.

HDMI out cannot be passively adapted to work with a DP monitor. It needs an active adapter to recode the HDMI signal into a DP signal. A passive cable won't work in this case.
