GPU temperamental problems

I know this sounds funny but can a motherboard and GPU be temperamental toward eachother. Mean they wont work together. I have a asrock b75m-dgs r2.0 motherboard and a zotac gtx 560. I cant get a signal to my monitor when i have them together. But if i put my old sapphire 4850 in the motherboard it works and if i put the zotac in my dell desktop it works. So I know that both items work im just working why they are not liking eachother.

Just to confirm, you are plugging the monitor into your GPU and not directly into the motherboard right?

When in doubt, re-format.
