Grabbed a cheap kindle fire for Black Friday. I am  looking to remove the default advertisements, add the google play store, and change the GUI (fire GUI is terrible...) I was wondering if somebody could direct me to the most recent tutorial for loading android onto it.

Thanks!!

Amazon uses a custom Bootloader that disables the flashing of the tablet.

You're SOL.

Also, whats wrong with Fire UI? I think it is fine, although thats subjective.

yup, but this is XDA we are on about and they managed to install a second custom bootloader to boot into custom roms
