1866 - 10-11-10-30 works.

Everything except mhz/volts auto 2133 fails. 2k works.

Maybe you can take your CPU OC off and do a little (BCLK)FSP OCing?

Why are you doing this again?  You have a 4790K+ 390 man.  Fallout 4 should run fine.

I have no CPU OC on ATM. I have validated it does 4.7ghz, 1.25v, and saved it to a profile, but I run stock all the time, including now.

Fallout 4, ultra preset, max anti-aliasing/antriasopic or whatever the hell its called runs 60-144 FPS just fine, but drops down to 40 in cities, and I've heard pumping up ram speed can help with the drops.

How would I go about the BCLCK/Fsp overclocking?

Stop, drop the Shadow Distance to medium.

Probably just needs more volts, or bad overclocking kit.

The issue with the lower speed rams is they are lower speed for a reason, because those chips weren't rated at being higher speed with reasonable voltage.

The low bin ram usually gets shitty ram chips too, like Hynix CFR. Samsung / PSC chips are best for overclocking but are harder to find.

What ram (16gb, 2x8gb) would you reccomend if I were to pick up some nicer ram?

You need to rethink how you treat your PC gaming experience. I mean, TressFX on Tombraider ate like 40FPS on my machine... I never ran that shit. ;)

Well, I changed it from txaa to fxaa, down a tier, and I'll see how it goes. It auto set my shadow detail and distance to medium.

If you can find a G.Skill TridentX 4x4Gb 2400 C9 or C10 kit that would be good, the C9 kits can be kind of pricey sometimes, C10 kit is usually not to bad last i checked.

Another decent option:  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231617&cm_re=tridentX-_-20-231-617-_-Product

C10 2400 kit:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231588&cm_re=tridentX-_-20-231-588-_-Product

Better yet, buy 2 of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231587&cm_re=tridentX-_-20-231-587-_-Product

same as 4x4 c10 2400 kit, but you save like $20.

I have the 2400 C9 4x4 kit, except I sold the 2 lesser sticks and kept the 2 best sticks.

The 2 best sticks do 2933 9-12-12-25 1T @ 2.275v with somewhat loose timings on the secondary and tertiary timings (the "advanced" timings in BIOS)

Some benchmarks prefer tighter timings, they also do 2860 or so 9-12-12-17 1T @ 2.1v with super tight secondary and tertiary timings.

Would it be worth it to run something like 3000mhz ram?

Also, I'd like to be able to keep my current ram in my system, and run the new ram alongside it, is it possible to run two sets of ram at two different speeds? I would assume that's a no. I'd be totally fine switching out this ram for new ones though, especially with how cheap ram is. It'd also give me backup parts, and eventually, if I needed more ram, I could give up the high speeds for double the capacity.

3000 mhz DDR3 still costs like 600$, it's not worth at all.   If you want the best, the Dominator platinum 2666 C10 and TridentX 2666 C10 are basically the best DDR3 money will buy.  They'll do upwards of 3000 mhz @ Cas 9 at the voltages mine does 2800 C9 at if you have a good board.

The 2400 is a pretty good sweet spot, it barely costs anymore than the 1600 kits.

I'd say get 2 kits of this, then just sell your current RAM for like $60 to pay for most of the difference.

Is it worth it to run 4x4 instead of 2x8?

I wouldn't even mind paying the 80$ outright for two kits of that, and keeping my own ram, that's hella fucking cheap.

8 GB sticks are usually a pain in the ass to OC or get at high speeds, usually costs a lot more.

(Since they have more memory chips, or ones that are more dense, it's harder to bin them @ manufacturer, and then even harder to OC them past stock settings)

Alright. Next paycheck I'll more than likely pick up two kits of that 2400mhz ram you suggested, for 16gbs total. Can't believe ram is so cheap. I got my low end 1600mhz for 10$ less. Dayumm.
