MSATA to M.2

Chrisis429

Hey guys, so I'm assuming that someone here knows a little bit more about this than I do. So I had a Lenovo ThinkPad T530, and I had a MSATA 250gb Samsung Evo SSD

I just bought a MSI GE62 Apache Pro and it only uses M.2, and I want to use my SSD. I bought this adapter

and when I plugged everything in it didn't work. I tried all 3 of my M.2 ports. Is this even possible because m.2 is a PCIe thing and it won't convert to SATA? Or is there a simple solution that I'm just not seeing?

Thanks!

M.2 can be either PCIe or SATA. Your's could just be PCIe.
