so I watched some reviews about having dual GPU, issues mostly

and the only "real" issue i noticed was Microstuttering

so now i want to know, is it really that bad?

how frequent is it? how noticable is it?

if it is so bad, how come i see so many people(also here on LTT) having Cross/SLI?

Microstutter with CF has not been an issue for 2 years now. Ever since the CF bridges were removed

sounds awesome!

It's not bad at all

The only issue I have had is programs not supporting it

which?

and games?

dual gpu's are a big waste of money imo, unless you're into film production, CAD or something its not worth it

i stronglly disagree

for the same money as 980ti you get 2 390's/970's which are quite a bit better

I don't have any noticeable microstutter, however I would expect the most recent cards to be fine. Part of the issue is support for dual cards/gpu in game profiles - some don't have any (Arkham Knight) or are plain crap.

The biggest problems with them are the noise and heat buildup, power consumption and price to performance ratio which is somewhere beyond the window it went out of.

-I don't hear my nitro 390, i hear case fans more

-heat won't be a problem, i have a full tower with 8 fans

- price/performance ratio.... why? 2 of 390's/970's are same price as 980ti but better

I can't hear my case fans at all - so that's a major difference.

I have six case fans (15 total inside) - when it's under the desk in the corner of the spare room it still heats up. More fans doesn't necessarily mean airflow is optimal. It was a general statement because you didn't provide any of that info at the start so take that as you will.

Price/performance ratios have nothing specific to do with Radeons or Geforce cards. That notion is a little alarming to say the least.

If you want to spend twice as much money and receive less than twice as much performance in return then that's up to the user. Your second card (on average) will still use the same power, produce the same heat and noise, but you will not consistently get double the framerates across the board. All other things being equal.
