Epic router question

Hello,

 

So I'm back with new project, i have question for it. Should i use SOPHOS UTM Home, or pfSense, pfsense looks like bit dated, but sophos use more power.

I couldn't find any sophos vs pfSense topics

 

Hardware:

 

Cpu: e8400

Ram: 6gb DDR2 ram

Hdd: 120gb (pfSense can run from USB flash drive)

2 100mb/s network cards, 1 intel 1.0gb/s internal, 300mb/s wireless

 

I have 2 laptops, 3 phones, and 2 PC, what should i use? Which is better? Which has more options?

Try both and see what you like. Sophos has a decent firewall but pfSense can be configured for anything.

So which is better for some hosting, i mean better firewall as good as possible, and easy to setup, thanks btw

Okay, so i installed pfSense it seems very nice, they have new design on 2.3 alpha version. Very stable, it almost made by itself! In older version i needed to do many work, but now vuolia! I'l try sophos now and see if it's any better

Seems like sophos don't work, i can't access webadmin after successful install. I stick with pfSense

Pfsense doesn't have the style sophos has, but it is way more powerful than sophos. It has features like iptables and dpi

Right now im using 4 days uptime sophos, it feels so much better interface, but i need best firewall for my few dedicated server box's.
