Hey guys,

I currently have a crappy whatever brand wireless mouse, and i'm noticing a lack of smoothness in its movements, even with current drivers. I have a 1440p @60Hz.What mouse do you think i should get?

Requirements are:

Last a long time

Be functionally very solid

Wired is fine

Mid-range price point (UK)

For 4X and RTS games (and less mouse dependant productivity)

Fingertip grip

I don't really like gaudy or over the top styling (MMO button insanity, RGB on literally everything).

Many Thanks in advance!

If you make a post contradicting mine that doesn't directly address my claims, or cites 'facts' without evidence, I'm probably not going to bother responding to it, because you probably didn't bother reading my post properly, and because life is too short. It doesn't mean I don't have an answer for you. It means I'm not dignifying you with a response.

Last a long time = Any Logitech ever

Be functionally very solid = top-end Logitech

Wired is fine = Duh, for gaming. :D Logitech

Mid-range price point (UK) = Dude, you're killing me! But some Logitechs apply.

For 4X and RTS games (and less mouse dependant productivity) = Hmm. A gaming-grade Logitech, perhaps?

Fingertip grip = Sounds like a G502 to me.

I don't really like gaudy or over the top styling (MMO button insanity, RGB on literally everything). = Aw crap, forget it. :/ Gone are the times of the MX518 or G500

Mionix Naos 7000? Really now? It's anything but a fingertip mouse, what with its width and ergonomic design. It's basically the poster child for a palm grip mouse.

As for fingertip mice: SteelSeries Sensei, Logitech G303, Razer Abyssus come to mind. Maybe Corsair Katar?

I own and use, sorted from newest to oldest: SteelSeries 6Gv2. Microsoft SideWinder X4. Mionix Naos 7000. Zowie EC1 Evo. Microsoft SideWinder X8. Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0. Dell U2414H. Samsung P2270H. AKG K273 Pro. Sennheiser HD555. Razer Goliathus Speed Medium. Func 1030 L. Qpad CT Medium.

I used to own: Razer DeathAdder 3G. Razer Krait. IntelliMouse Optical 1.1. SteelSeries QcK.

Thanks for the responses guys,

I had a little look at the mice you suggested and there are quite a few that look good. I especially like:

Logitech 303, which is a little too much live the rear end of a bee hive, but otherwise looks to be rock solid choice from a well reputed brand.

Feenix Nascita, which looks awesome but seems to be impossible to get in UK, and reviews say it's a bit expensive.

Steelseries Sensei, which seems to be a really good choice as well. I figure I could turn the light off on this one too?

I'd have to suggest the Mionix NAOS 8200. It's a beast of a mouse, and by far the best I've ever used (and that is the reason I bought it for myself some two years ago, and it still works and looks just as it did fresh from the box.)
