What is folding? Folding is a worldwide distributed computing effort conducted by Stanford University to understand how proteins assemble themselves. The real world applications of this research includes potential cures for diseases such as Alzheimer's, cancer, and Parkinson's. Nearly everyone's life has been touched by someone who has had one of these diseases or one of the many other diseases this research is aiming to cure.[/quote

It is also something you should do if you have the PC power :)

People are saying like what is the cost of folding and I wonder what "folding" means in bitcoin.

You don't "fold" in bitcoin.  It's called folding for F@H cos you fold protein chains for research.  Bitcoin hashing has no benefit other than to mine bitcoin.

QUOTE ME IN A REPLY SO I CAN SEE THE NOTIFICATION!

When there is no danger of failure there is no pleasure in success.

Folding is unrelated to bitcoins, it's a different project entirely. Not related to cryptocurrency.

The people asking about cost are referring to the power bill.

Here is a recent thread asking the same question: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/474840-what-is-foldinghome/

Here is this sections stickied thread regarding folding containing a bunch of links and a

summary of what it is. http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/876-foldinghome-install-guide-and-links-linustechtips-team-223518/

Give me a shout if you have any questions after you have had a quick look at the links.
