canon t5i vs nikon d5200

i currently have a canon t5i and have to opportunity to trade it and $50 for a nikon d5200. i will also have to buy a battery for the d5200. is it worth the cost?

  • What do you mainly use the camera for?

Yeah, it depends on your use and if you find anything lacking in the Canon. The Nikon is better spec (megapixel wise) but does the Nikon come with the battery? If not, you might have to think twice about it.

 

Also, if you have any lenses or accessories that you bought extra (extra batteries or whatever) for the Canon, you might not be so eager to change.

I don't have any accessories for the t5i except for the charger and battery. This is my first dslr and I don't know anything about them. The d5200 doesn't come with a battery

Don't waste your money or time, learn to use the camera you have first.  Otherwise all you are doing is gear acquisition.
