So i am building a PC for my buddy and would like to hear your opinion about it, what is overkill, what is bottlenecking and so on. The build needs to stay around the price range of the listed parts.

He already has:

- Corsair cx600m PSU

- Gigabyte gtx 950

- 16 gigs of ddr3 1600mhz :D :D :D

- 2TB HDD

my plan for the rest of the parts is:

- Intel core i5 4690k (better options?)

- Gigabyte GA-Z97P-D3

- cooler master hyper 212 evo

- SilentiumPC Gladius M35 Pure Black GD-M35 (mayby a little rare brand to the states, it has build in fan control, 2 fans and its pretty cheap in EU scheme of things)

He wan't a silent build and he still could return that GPU if needed.

What exact PSU is it?

Also for a quieter option get a BeQuiet! Pure Rock CPU cooler

dump that psu

Be quiet... The CXM is not nearly ad bad as CX600 , if he keeps the 950 he will be fine though if he plans to get anything more, get something better,

Isn't it the same thing? All in all, stay away from the CX series.

No they are not the same thing.. If he ALREADY has a CXM not a CX he is fine. The CXM is way better then the CX, not saying it is a good PSU though as long as he does not live in an area where high temps are a big issue like 100-120 Degrees F ( like in North Carolina where my Sis lives ) it is perfectly fine temporarily.

That's quite a mismatch of that CPU and GPU, th 4690k would be better suited to be paired with a 970/390.Will he be using this rig for editing?

I am pretty sure he won't, I am not an expert on CPU things, could you or someone else recommend some other preferably intel cpu for the build? I would prefer intel i5 because i think it would suite his gaming needs the best.
