So, my trash i3 laptop died not long ago.  I've removed the HDD to put it in my machine.  Installed it in the machine, turned the machine on, drivers installed and restarted.  Checked HWmonitor to check the temp and what have you and this shows up.

The MK6465GSX is the 2.5 I installed, the DT01ACA100 has no issues at all.

What can I do to clear this? Or atleast check the health of the HDD.  I just used windows HDD repair thing, took a good 10 hours and it's still saying "yes" across the board.

What can I do to fix this?

If you have another SATA port and Sata cable, try those just to make sure.

Otherwise, trash the drive and get a new one. SMART failure is generally the last straw.

I used to use a program called "victoria HDD" to do deep tests but cannot find it these days. HDDscan is another.

If you still get Drive warning on a different sata port and cable then you should start backing all your stuffs up and getting a new drive ready.

A SMART Drive warning basically means the drive is on its last few legs. Windows will start warning you when the drive is very close to dying.

Yeah, it's just a few years old, 2.5" 640gb I was hoping to be able to use for random storage. Disappointing but nothing lost :) thanks for the help guys.
