Before I say anything, I did use the search function.

I always thought GC was the best browser (well, the fastest at the very least)

well, I got 2 things:

1. Why does it use up SO much RAM? I think I heard this somewhere else on the forum but GC is so "resource-dependent", causing my laptop to freeze ALL the time

2. Y U NO UPDATE (it has some problems and I tried uninstalling & then reinstalling, I visited google product forums and apparently this was an inherent issues in many other people's computers but there was not many solutions, all of which I've tried and failed)

Does this mean I should move onto new browser? (I still feel like GC is the fastest)

Google Chrome is a large resource hog but is actually the best in terms of resources if you have more than 10 tabs open :P I personally use firefox which is even more of a resource hog but uses less resources at 25+ tabs which I tend to have open and if you really need a lightweight web browser than I have to say it :/ but Internet explorer might actually be the best choice? O.o not sure how much ram that uses since I don't use it but I'm pretty sure it's less than firefox and chrome at <5 tabs.

Personally I run into situations with Chrome using so much ram that if I close it I get a noticeable increase in performance and that's with 4GB RAM.

This happened to me with my old computer that has only 2gb of ram tested with chrome, firefox and opera. but pretty much every web browser will do the same if you open like 10 tabs at a time.

Is it not auto updating? I just move from firefox and don't know about the update system btw.

yeah it's not auto updating...

Go to the settings thing in the top right, and click "About Google Chrome" and then click check for updates, and it should update right there, but you'll have to restart Chrome for it to finish.

It should auto update after that.

Nope, I'm much more browser-literate than that...

I know that trick, tried that before, and every time it shows me this ugly, frowning "update failed: error 10"

and yes I have tried googling it and found a couple of solutions but... they didn't work D:

Switch for now then, or use Chrome Beta.
