I'm looking for a UPS capable of outputting up to 850W for at least 40 minutes. Where would I find one? I'm not very experienced with this kind of thing, so I don't know what I'm looking for.

I use a 900w CyberPower UPS and i have about a 450-500w computer and get about 25-30 min of usage when running shadow of mordor and 40-45 min when just using the computer

I draw less than 500W, but I want to have a decent buffer.

holy shit. you can power an 850w pc for 40 minutes off a battery? this is new to me.

 

Well, it only consumes 500W, but I want it to be able to provide 850W when I possibly upgrade to a mATX system.

Most UPS can't sustain 850W for that long of a time period unless you get ones with extra large battery packs or long run time ones for say servers. The one selected will do the job very well and have extra headroom, personally I recommend APC but overall Cyberpower isn't bad also.

If you really really want to go for extended run times there are theses which are more for small businesses and servers which can keep them going depending on the battery pack you get with them, with that comes the extra hefty costs though...
