Fan Setup Struggle

Go to solution Solved by Lord_Karango17,

The rear will be the same as the top, where the exhaust air of the cpu will be used to cool the gpu radiator. In reality, it will only be a few degrees, but it is still  a raise in temps.

Why exactly is the bottom fan slot not recommended? I had the radiators on the bottom of the case when I used the kraken G10 to mount H55s on my 760s, and they seemed to do fine.

Hey guys, I am really close to finally having everything ready for purchase (for my PC). However, I am now stuck on 1 thing. The case that I'm using is the CM Storm Trooper, and from what I've seen, its default fans are pretty bad. So i decided to get 2 new front fans and am struggling on the following: I am using a 980ti hybrid and don't know where to mount it. I don't think I can put it at the top because then it will get in the way of my Noctua NH-D15 CPU cooler. And I don't think I can put it at the bottom because then something with the pump will happen and its not recommended. So my last option is to put it in the rear slot of the case and set it as an exhaust. However, if its exhaust won't hot air be going through the radiator of the 980ti thus making it have hotter temperatures? I am really stumped on what I should have my fan setup in my case be.

If you can, tell me where i should have all my fans and radiator setup based on what i said above.

thanks

@Lord_Karango17 people were saying that the pump would be pulling water through the loop instead of pushing, which apparently is bad...?

That dosent make a whole lot of sense, since the pump pulls the water from one side, and pushes it out the other. Very similar to how a fan works, and a fan works regardless of the orientation.

The 980 ti hybrid uses a pretty standard asatek cpu cooler mounted to the core, and that was similar to the H55 I used on my 760s, and they were fine. The pump showed no sign of issues even when the rad was mounted at the bottom of the case.

Alright thanks man, I guess ill mount it on the bottom. Should I set the radiator up and intake or exhaust?

Exhaust if you can, so it isnt blowing hot air into the case. Do note that it will change the internal case pressure, or rearrange other case fans if need be
