Building a new PC

Go to solution Solved by Bazilias,

So I could just go with the one i have chosen, right?

Yes you can.

Hello! I'm building a new pc as my current one is atleast 5 years old and can't even launch the newest games like Fallout 4.

I have chosen the parts for it, (I haven't bought anything yet) and I'm looking for feedback and recommendations.

1. Budget & Location

My budget is 2000€. I live in Finland.

2. Aim

Mostly gaming. Planning to record music and edit videos with this too. I want to play games like Fallout 4 and The Witcher 3 with maxed out settings. I also play games like CS:GO, WoW and LoL but I'm pretty sure that if this PC can handle the more demanding games, it won't be a problem playing them with high amounts of FPS. I don't know much about overclocking, but I want to keep it as an possibility

3. Monitors

I have two monitors. 1. 1920 x 1080 BenQ XL2420T 120hz    2.random old 1360 x 768 small Samsung TV.

I'm currently not planning on buying new monitors, but it Is a possibility.

4. Peripherals

I don't need anything but Windows 7 home premium.

5. Why are you upgrading

As I said before, my PC is atleast 5 years old, and can't even launch the newest games. At first I was only going to upgrade, but I noticed that I have to buy a new case, a new videocard, a new CPU AND a new motherboard in order to  get the gaming experience I want, so I decided to just go for a new PC. I also want my PC to be as future proof as possible.

All feedback and recommendations are welcome.

Get a 850W power supply if you plan to SLI in the future, otherwise just get a 650W unit it will be more than enough for the 980Ti.

If you are going to edit stuff, go for an entry level X99 build with the I7 5820k. I have the same thing, it's pretty awesome. Go with a high-end gfx card for faster render times. Also, if you haave 2000 to spend I'd recommend an EKWB Predator 240 and a define s, if you don't mind the lack of 5.25" bays.

Yes I am probably going to SLI this when the performance decreases, but how much more will the power bill cost or is it even somethin to worry about?

If you are planning to do a SLI configuration in the future then you should get a 750W-850W Power supply.

Depends where you live, but it's really not that much of a big deal (vacuums and appliances like heaters consume way more!)
