wifi extender problems

im getting 180 down on wired 45-75 on wifi and 5 on the extender. the extender i have is here http://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-Wi-Fi-Extender-Essentials-EX2700/dp/B00L0YLRUW/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1447451998&sr=1-1&keywords=wifi+extender I read online that extenders should only cut the speed down by half. any suggestions on what the problem is

Dont use extenders

 

Place you wirless router somewhere rather in the corner of your living room so you get signal in your bedroom

Wifi extenders will decrease bandwidth, it's just a limitation of how they work. The amount it will reduce depends on the strength of the signal it receives and the quality of the extender. 

 

If you want to increase the WiFi range, access points are the way to go

my router is in my bedroom so i can have it wired. its a good distance away from my living room
