It is a good processor for gaming, but not worth the extra 100$ over the 4690k, as there is a minimal difference in performance.

Yes.

i5-4690k or i5-6600k.

Unless you plan on streaming, editing videos, rendering videos, or other CPU intensive tasks, it is not needed.
