I am in search for a longer Micro USB 2.0 Cable for my HTC One M8 to charge with. However, I have been looking around on monoprice and Amazon, but I can't seem to find what are the amps for the OEM cable and what the amps are for the marketplace cables. Am I safe to assume that all USB cables have the same amount of amps to charge my phone? (I hope my terminology is correct. The electrical subject is not my cup of tea.)

the gauge of the cable kinda defines the amount of amperage you can push through the cable. Normal cables have 28AWG. Shitty ones have 30 or 32AWG. Good cables have 26AWG, and UberBeastMaster cables have 24AWG.

Go on Aliexpress and look for some decent MicroUSB cables, I guarantee you they're all over the place. I bought a pack of 5 braided cables for about $6.

Look for gauge. If you find a thicker gauge cable, it's going to carry a higher current. I don't remember what gauge cuts off and won't carry a 1.5+A current well, but I know thinner cables can't carry that current. If you can't find gauge, just wing it. Buy it, and know the return policy.

As KemoKa said get cables with larger conductors in them for the power wires like theses which have 28/24AWG:
