Windows Hello option not available

I'm trying to enable the fingerprint reader on my Sager laptop, and it appears as though I'm unable to do so without Windows Hello. I've enabled a PIN, also linked (and then unlinked) my Microsoft account, unlinking only after it yielded no results. Has anyone experienced this issue and possibly resolved it? I'd love to have this fingerprint reader working, more for shits and giggles than anything, but the practical application is more than appealing as well. Thanks guys. EDIT: Biometric device is EgisTec ES603, have attempted to roll back drivers (option not available), and updating drivers (most up-to-date is in use). Still awaiting a solution and more feedback from XoticPC support.

shoot, if this is a real issue I'm gonna be a little ticked if I can't get the fingerprint reader to work when I get my Sager soon.

Good afternoon and thank you for your email. With Windows 10, you need to set up a PIN login on the computer to enable fingerprint scanning. The driver should be built into Windows 10 itself.

I followed these steps, and then some. Also restated the machine a few times to see if the option would appear. Even et the clock forwards a few hours/days to see if that would trigger the Hello options to become available.

I saw a post on another forum that suggests Windows Update may have updated the driver...  Try using the driver rollback feature in the device manager.

Well, that's not the issue. Considering there's only one driver option available for this particular reader. One that works successfully with Windows 10, that is. Windows Hello not being an option I have while the scanner is recognized and marked as fully functional in Device Manager is the issue at hand. I'll attempt this, no expected results though.

press windows + r, then type services.msc and see if either Windows Hello or Windows Biometric Service has been disabled.

Windows Hello isn't a thing that exists according to my Services window.. But Biometric Service is running and enabled upon startup

Found the drivers for your model on Sager's website, however it looks like the fingerprint reader requires a reinstall of the chipset drivers, at least as far as I can tell...

Cool cool. Will check when I'm off work. I was looking at the fingerprint readers manufacturers site. Nobody was able to find the drivers elsewhere either. I'll report back later on. Thanks a ton so far

Well, got Windows Hello to appear now. Just to get the damn thing to recognize my finger. Tried 5 digits on one hand, and 2 on the other.. lmao. Thanks, man. Apparently you are better at looking for this shit than I am...

 

EDIT: Seems as though I wasn't using enough pressure on the sensor. I pressed harder this time around and it worked. Coolio. All set. Thanks again @AnnoyedShelf
