A non-responsive iPhone 4S

My sister came to me with her iPhone. It has a non-working power button, but the phone still works.. The screen is black, it is non-responsive, and when you plug it in? Nothing. I need somebody to help me because when she has problems, she blames me first and asks questions later. Thanks to anyone who can help.

Have you tried doing a complete reset?

So non of the buttons work and it don't vibrate when you plug it into a power source?

 

If this is the case. I can recommend a hard restore.

You can fix it by buying a better device... JK, take it to the apple store and they will turn it on and later once on ios, you can use the little white thing to lock and unlock your phone.

She will literally kill me if I do that, as she has over 2,000 pictures which against my own, aren't backed up...

A hard restore means to remove the battery. This will work out if the RAM has an error. Unfortuantly the buttons on the iPhone 4 and 4S are notorious for breaking. If the phone still has warranty I recommend taking it to the Apple store and make them fix it.

If the problem is with the buttons, yes. Id the problem is with the RAM/ROM I am not so sure. but her shoice is to have a dead phone with pictures on or a live phone with no pictures

I went with her to the Apple Store and it turns out that she didn't tell me that she dropped it. The force from the drop knocked the battery's cable off the logic board. She's also told me that iPhones are built like shit and that she's getting a Galaxy S IV.
