Do you actually get to redeem the Steam and the Origin key of the same game?

I tried with Burnout Paradise and it seems to work I already downloaded it on Steam and it's now downloading on Origin.

 

Is this how it's supposed to work or just an oversight?

You get two keys for some of the games. It's not an oversight. You get two keys, a Steam key and an Origin key for everything but Sims, BF3, and DS3. Those are all Origin only.

Yes, you get the games for both platforms. except BF3, Sims and DS3

No it will work on both steam and origin as well.

 

Its like you have got two copies of the game 1 on steam and the other on origin.

You get both Steam and Origin, both work independently.
