Steelseries Siberia elite mic problem

Hello, I have a Steel Series siberia elite headset, it has been working beautifully. But today I was about to play with a mate, and to use my microphone for the first time. And it just doesn't, I have tried for hours, and I think I'm going insane. I have been fiddeling with recording devices, changed USB port, reinstalled all drivers etc. 

The mic is showing in recording devices, but the sound bar doesn't move, it isn't reciving any input.
I have windows 10 by the way.

Make sure the mic isn't muted (wheel on left cup)

 

Mic light on = Muted

Light off = Un-muted 

 

Apparently it catches a lot of people out because its the reverse of what most other headsets do.

If this don't work then the wires that connects to your mic is messed up.

Jesus christ I have never felt so stupid I have spent hours, I have even tried fixing it from my system BIOS. I was literally going insane. Thank you sir.
