Hello there

I am majoring in film & media productions and we work on both AVID and ADOBE softwares (media composer- premiere pro- after effects- etc)

I am good in video editing but so bad in PC building so excuse my ignorance please

I planned to build this PC to help me mainly on video/audio editing with some gaming on the side:

Intel Core i7-5820K

ZOTAC GeForce GTX 980 Ti AMP! Extreme

MSI X99A SLI KRAIT EDITION

CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB

Corsair Hydro Series™ H100i GTX Extreme Performance

SAMSUNG 850 EVO 2.5" 500GB

CORSAIR AX series AX760

1-will this PC be good enough AVID? is this the best I can get without going with XEON and i7-5960x processors? or should I go with XEON or i7-5960x for AVID software???

2-do I really need a workstation graphics card or the ZOTAC amp extreme will be good enough?

3- should I go with a prebuilt workstation such as the ones from dell and hp or a macpro? are they overpriced compared to their performance?

all I need is a workstation/gaming console that can handle 4k raw footage easily and compatible with both AVID & ADOBE software... please help as this build is giving me a headache everyday ( anything you guys tell me would help

You definitely don't NEED a workstation gpu, and the 5820k should be fine for your work.

1. Yes

2. No you dont need workstation graphics right NOW.

3. They are overpriced. Unless your software is MAC only then build your own pc.

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.
