Ok so the top of my wireless USB adapter came out (the part you put in the USB port). Now because of this i cant use the internet on my desktop, any suggestions on how i can re-attach it?

Some other information: My room is downstairs and my router is upstairs and my parents said that they are not going to drill holes so that i can get an Ethernet cable down here, also i am positive the wireless adapter still works i just have to find out a way to re-attach the USB part at the top.

Thanks!

Has the plug broken off completely? (Broken away from the chip?), If so, you might be able to solder it back into place, but if the board has snapped then it is more or less dead. But if it has just broken away from the solder then you might have a chance. Take your USB apart (remove the case) so that you are only holding the chip. Now look to see where it was connected and see if you are able to re solder it back into place. Try and line up the plug connectors as close as you can to the connectors on the board so the plug is flush with the side of the chip/board, so that when you put the case back on it will fit, even harder if your USB is retractable. Watch some videos on YouTube about soldering before attempting this, If you do it wrong you can kill it.

Good Luck!
