My college doesnt have software engineer, So I'm taking computer science. First I learned how to program in java, then they scale you down and show you computer architecture and how a CPU processes instructions at a primitive level. You also learn about different registers and touch a bit on machine langauge. Afterwards they teach you assembly language to show you how your programs run at a primitive level in hope that when you program at a high language, your understanding of assembly language will aid you to make more efficient and maybe elegant programs.

Oh and on top of that they made us take a course in Linux. I have to say, it was the most useful course I've ever taken. I'm glad I stepped out of the microsoft windows' cave.

Take CS, more broad and leaves you with more options as far as a future job, which will/can include SE jobs. SE, well you're left with SE jobs and that's it, unless you're a good spin doctor.

The more you know the better, reduces the Hardware vs Software bug battles down the road.

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

This is NOT the signature you are looking for.
