It's been a few weeks since my microphone stopped working within Steam, I've tested in ARMA 3, CS:GO, Garry's Mod, and even when doing the Steam Mic Level test nothing happens at all. I can use my mic in Skype.

My mic is the Antlion Modmic 4.0, and if it matters, my video card/ driver is GTX 780 and 358.50.

"Stopped working" - so it's worked before? Have you checked to see if you need to manually set it to that microphone in Steam settings? Did you check your Windows Sound in control panel to make sure it's working?

Hold up I oughtta be more specific. I would press the push to talk button in CS and it would show that I was "talking" but no one could hear me. Steam has the mic selected, rear Pink panel and whatnot, in Control Panel/Sound it is selected and working, I can hear myself clearly with the playback feature.

That's tech for ya.

Maybe the fact that I bothered to check Control Panel made it feel good about itself and it wanted to start working for once. Just needed a little emotional boost is all.

You know, my Surface's display wouldn't turn on the other day. I talked nicely to it as I nearly panicked and did one of the reset options with the button combinations. It turned on thankfully and I didn't lose any of my work.
