After reviewing / taking notes via Internet on watercooling, I started to put a water cooling system together. That said, I have a few questions:

Watercooling - MSI GTX 970 4G

Ordered and installed EK waterblock / backplate.

Ordered a EK Radiator

-----------------------------------------

So how can I find out what size fittings / tubing I need?

With consideration to PC case size, does it matter what size pump / reservoir I get?

almost all of the fittings you will look at will have G1/4" threads so they'll be universal. As far as tubing size and fitting size (not thread size) are really up to your discretion. Check out JayzTwoCents on youtube for anything on watercooling. And as far as sizing goes for cases. Yeah it definitely matters. gotta make sure all your rads and stuff will fit in there. Also, are you putting your CPU and GPU on the same loop? what CPU are you using? are you overclocking said CPU? If you are adding both, youll want more than just one radiator (depending on the size of the rad you bought).

your case is a: corsair 800D or corsair 700D or corsair 750D? (no 850D was produced).

if looking to do just the GPU, then you might look to the nzxt G10 kit. this is

a cost conscious alternative. using a GPU only custom loop is not going to be a

performance gain worth the money spent. to include the CPU and GPU into a

custom loop, together will make it all feel a bit more worth it.

what radiator choice do you have?

the 750D can handle a 45mm or thinner with no interferences. the 60mm can

produce 8-pin CPU power issues.

i'd recommend:

radiator: alphacool xt45 360 or xspc rx360 r3 ek xt360

reservoir: this is a personal choice for you.

usually the tube res xspc photon 170 w/D5 pump is pretty compact and useful.

fittings: this is a personal aesthetic. just ensure the fittings are made for your

specific tubing used, be it hard line or soft tubing.

pump: any D5 variant is best for your needs.

fans: any 120mm fan 1200rpm with 1.5mm/h2o or better. if planning on voltage

overclocking, you may end up supplementing your loop with an extra 240 radiator

to make the temps/noise comfortable.

i have a 750D and wrote this: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/74069-update-corsair-750d-and-60mm-radiators/

it was a fair use of the case. i ended up cutting the ODD cages off to offset the

roof radiator to allow for the thicker radiator. since i have moved to the phanteks

enthoo pro, but it too has it's quirks. the better airflow over the 750D was well

worth the upgrade.
