So, I have 2 case fans and I'm wondering what to do with the wires. Are they all supposed to connect to one wire that connects to the motherboard? Do they all connect to the power supply? I have a Z97 PC Mate motherboard. Also how to I control what speeds the fans run at? They are all plugged into different ports on the motherboard labeled fan1, fan2, etc.

Thanks

in the bios you should be able to change it and under each header it may say what fan it is.

You can plug the fans into separate fan header or the same(with a splitter)

you have plenty of fan headers on your board, each fan can plug in to its own header. sometimes for cable management though you may want to get a fan splitter which would be good for you since you only have 1 4 pin header

2 x 4-pin CPU fan connectors
1 x 4-pin system fan connector
2 x 3-pin system fan connectors

CPU: i5 6600k @ 4.6 ghz  Motherboard: Asus z170-a  Cooling: Corsair h80i GT GPU: EVGA GTX 970  Ram: G.Skill 2x8 gb ddr4 2400  PSU: EVGA G2 Supernova 550w  Case: Corsair 200r Storage: 250GB 850 EVO + 2x wd 1 tb drives

If you do not have to wire the fans to the power supply then for the love of god don't. If for whatever reason you run out of fan headers then get an internal fan hub for PWM fans or voltage control unit for DC fans. Hooking any fans directly to power source will make them run at full speed 24/7 which can be really loud.
