Enter Bios with a new CPU

Hi everyone. I've got a question:Will i be able to boot into bios with fx 6300 on asus m5a78l-m lx3 in order to update it as i've got the the motherboard before the cpu was out? The official website says i need bios version 0702 in order for this cpu to work on my mobo.

My current bios version is 0502.

Nope. If it does not support FX without an updated Bios you will need an older chip to update first.

 

You can always try going to a local PC repair shop with your PC and bringing both your FX and build and asking to borrow an older AM3 chip for a bit at the shop. I'm sure they wouldn't have a problem and will probably not charge you.
