I can't see what you mean.  Can you take a (much) better picture?

Those lines might just be marks made from manufacturing, that whole part is a just a casing so it shouldn't effect performance, its the actual silicon wafer (the components beneath the casing) that allows the CPU to function so this shouldn't make any difference, hope that helped.

run it, unless there are noticeable gouges or scratches (something a

fingernail can catch on) there will be no thermal issues (reason TIM is

pliable to fill in irregularities)

If it had actually damaged the processor, you will almost certainly know right away since it just won't function.  It's not like it is going to work for 2 years and then die out of warranty or something like that.

But judging by how faint the marks are, I don't think it's anything to worry about. It might not even be a scratch, but simply a mark you can rub off with your finger

Well, all I can say is in addition to my comment, the following are very true as well:

Those lines might just be marks made from manufacturing, that whole part is a just a casing so it shouldn't effect performance, its the actual silicon wafer (the components beneath the casing) that allows the CPU to function so this shouldn't make any difference, hope that helped.
