Macbook

Go to solution Solved by noisebomb44,

i want to delete the files to make up some space

Then download this

It will help you locate where all the wasted memory is located, just start by expanding the folder that takes most of the space, and see if there are any unnecessary files there, if not, then move on to the next folder

you could also install ccleaner, it will automatically free some space, with the press of a button

I have a bunch of documents stored on my mac somewhere and i can´t seem to find them, do any one of you know where to find these? i´ve looked through all the available files and i have no idea where they can be. Is there a way to access these through terminal?

What type are they? Have you tried searching by file extension type ?

System: i7 4790K, Hyper 212 EVO, 16 GB Crucial Ballistix, GTX 1070 Super clocked, MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition, Corsair RM 750, Corsair 750D (with 2 additional 140mm NZXT fans up top for exhaust.)

In the top right corner, there should be something like "spotlight"

It looks like a small magnifying glass. Click on the magnifying glass and an input box opens for you to begin typing whatever you are looking for.

search for a filename or file extention

profit??!!

The problem is that i don´t really know what the files are, there are just a bunch of files taking up space marked as "other" when i look at the storage overwiev. i´ve deleted all of the downloads and apps that i´m not using but i can´t figure out what else is taking up so much space, we´re talking about like 20 gb

Are you looking to delete your documents to save space

Or are your documents important, and you want to save them?
