Hey all :)

im trying to build my 1st rig that uses water cooling and need some advice!

im going to make an ITX build using the BitFenix Prodigy and plan on putting a 240mm rad in the top with a Radiator Shroud out side the case to give more room for fans :)

the rad will only be  used for CPU but i plan on learning more and try GPU cooling as well later in the future

im stuck on how the circuit should work am i able to go directly from the radiator to a CPU block/pump or do i need to use other sources like in the pic?

sorry so the noob question, we all gotta start somewhere :D

Thanks for your time and support

okay so the res is required?

in what case would the res not be required?

sorry trying to wrap my head around it :P

thanks for the replies :)

You always need a res and a pump. Order of components doesn't matter as long as (as ExconHD said) the res is before the pump, and above it. That way the pump always has access to water straight from the res.

Here's a prodigy build without a res, of course everyone here will freak out that a 240 is not enough for CPU and gpu... But his temps are ok. Granted they could be better, but he's not exactly killing anything
