It'll be interesting to see how Nvidia uses HBM on their graphics hardware in the future. A yield of 6GB or more would be preferable.

Judging from the price of HBM - I'd say a 8GB HBM2 Titan would probably be 1500$, if not more. It's expensive and Nvidia will overprice it, I have no doubt. Say what you will, but their cards carry a hefty price tag 90% of the times.

As for performance - they need to bring back compute potential in order to keep up in DX12 so my best guess is this is the end of the "efficiency and thermals" argument in their favor. Maxwell is VERY cut-down in order to be less hot and that's showing in DX12 benches as well as battlefront for some reason. Titan X and 980 Ti are probably the only decent chips in terms of DX12 capability.
